Revolutionary leader Che Guevara once said, “volunteer work is a school for building consciousness”. These words have inspired Cubans and people around the world, and in this spirit the Che Guevara Brigade is named for him. As a visionary thinker, revolutionary leader and tireless fighter against injustice until the end of his life, there is much to learn from Che Guevara's life and ideas.

Join the webinar to hear speakers from Cuba, Canada and the UK, discussing Che Guevara's ideas and his legacy today! This will also be an opportunity to find out how you can travel to Cuba on the 27th Che Guevara Brigade!
    The evening will feature:
    >> DR. ALEIDA GUEVARA – Video greetings from Cuban revolutionary leader, pediatrician, prominent author of the book, “Chavez, Venezuela and the New Latin America” and daughter of the legendary Ernesto Che Guevara.
    >> HELEN YAFFE - Lecturer in Economic and Social History (Latin American & Cuban development) at University of Glasgow, and author of: Che Guevara: The Economics of Revolution; We Are Cuba! How a revolutionary people survived in post-Soviet world; Cuba’s Contribution to Combating COVID-19
    >> DAVID ALDAMA PANDO – Third Secretary, Cuban Embassy in Ottawa, Canada
    >> AZZA ROJBI - Former Che Brigade brigadista, and coordinator of Friends of Cuba Against the U.S. Blockade - Vancouver
    >> JANINE SOLANKI – National Coordinator of the Che Guevara Brigade
  • With music from:
    >> GERARDO ALFONSO – Legendary Cuban musician, singer and songwriter
    >> AUGUSTO ENRIQUEZ - World renowned Cuban singer and composer, and formerly lead singer with the popular Cuban group Moncada. Augusto Enriquez continues to perform world wide and has performed alongside artists such as Pavarotti, Sting and James Brown.

The cruel and immoral U.S. blockade against Cuba has been imposed for over 60 years, and has been even more harsh at this time of pandemic. We encourage you to sign the Canadian parliamentary petition, demanding that the U.S. government end their blockade on Cuba!

Organized by the Che Guevara Brigade Committee of the Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC)
The Che Guevara Brigade is a project of the Canadian Network on Cuba, a network of Cuba solidarity organizations across Canada promoting friendship and solidarity with Cuba and the Cuban people.
